I have read endless discussion regarding riding in powder or walk mode, but haven't seen any suggestions regarding riding locked. I ride with my front boot locked at 3 and the rear at 2. I've gotten comfortable with this setup, but struggle with heel side chatter/wavy trenches. Could the boot positioning be part of the heel side problem?

I ride a Donek FC I 179
Deeluxe Suzuka's
TD1's @ 60 front 58 rear

I have some other ideas regarding the heel side chatter, namely the article by Dan Bogardus, "Your butt and where it should not be". I am working on that (suggestions welcome), but wondered it the boot setup could be a factor.

Thanks

IMO, this really has more to do with how you're pressuring the board through the turn.

Some previous discussion here:

Of course, stance width, angles and even your boot settings can have some impact on your ability to keep your mass balanced over the edge. Somtimes finding that "magic" place where everything jibes with your equipment and feels good is the most challenging part of carving. Camps, clinics and riding with other hardbooters are all ways to get ideas to help get you dialed. Good luck! (OK, that was my last edit)

It adds a whole new dimension to your riding. You will be amazed, maybe even astonished. Just do it.

the end of the bolt sticking out from the ankle of your Suzukas where you replaced the cant adjuster that is causing your wavy trenches. :nono:

I 2nd Big Mario's suggestion - I just mounted a pair of BTS (yellow springs on Deluxe LeMans); I could never find a locked position for my front boot that allowed me the kind of flexibility with the 4 buckle LeMans that I could get with my 3 buckle Raichle 123s until I tried the BTS. If you do go this route, I'd suggest blue springs for you.
