Yeah the last year I remember them having an alpine component was in 2000. From what I've seen, it's been in steady decline for about the last 7 years. To be honest I don't think that they really should still be calling it the US Open anymore, since it's no longer the premiere event in the country.

'Maybe we can all get our timberline boots and sun screen and go watch the half pipe, Like all the other "core" riders'

Peter Bauer ,TDK worlds at the ridge in like 90. Peter then went on to predict some day half pipe will be all that matters to Americans.

Huh?!?

They have limited evenys this year, halfpipe and the rail jam, no big air, no bordercross. Lame.

The snow was incredible. Lots of hype, tons of free schwag, evilsports stickers everywhere and overall a good time. Check out http://www.dominatorwax.com/waxes.html these guys rock! Terje showed up too. Jake circling the event in a heli was kinda weird. The Sobe Lizard man was awesome.
