I have been riding about 25 days a year for the last ten years - Kemper Phantom, Asym Air 164, Burton Supemodel 168, always with a stiff binding and boot set-up for all mountain freeride.

I now wish to ride free carve and need advice about board length. My height is 6'2" (188 cm) and I am about 170lbs.

Being Europe based and not having the $ for a Catek just yet, I am thinking about going for a Burton Ultra Prime 173 if I can find one, or posibly a Renntiger or F2 Speedster if no Primes come to light.

Any views, opinions, recommendations, suggestions...

You could also check BlueTomato Oxygen 168, 19.5 cm width ans 13 meter radius, price only 299 euros now.
Board allows quite mild angles and has pretty good radius for carving

For your height/weight, I would look in the range of 167 to 175. RennTigers and F2's and Oxygens are good boards. Don't forget to check out Bomber bindings too!

Thanks Jack,

I have my eye on a pair of SH TD1s for sale in Europe. Will probably need new base plates, bumpers and intec to make them rock me.

Al G,

I'm 6'2", 180lbs and am riding a 171 Donek Free Carve 1 (that Jack may remember). It's mounted with a pair of TD1's, and I am having the time of my life.
