Check out the pics. Do you guys think I can do anything to fix it? Ice really gets into the tear. I'm afraid the rip is going to get worse and my new ATV will have permanent topsheet damage. I was thinking of duct taping it for the interim while I'm in Tahoe :o

Any decent ski-shop should be able to glue it. That would also protect of humidity to get in.

Well, I've never done repairs like that, but if you check out
Tognar they'll tell you that if it's in the tip or tail it's probably better to put in some urethane glue for the flexibility of it. They have instructions on how to do repairs like this. Given how small it is, I'd probably use epoxy just to make sure it bonds real good. You can get epoxies and a syringe at www.tognar.com and instructions too.

very common and easy ding
1. protect all but the "hole" with beige tape ( not sure of the english name..no duct tape but the one used for carboxes that is very plastic and glossy)... make sure u are generous and make small bevels in the tape on the outter parts so the resin does not run everywhere else
2. warm epoxy tubes ( araldite blue in europe) and mix them. Warming makes the resin more fluid
3. pour everywhere in the hole
4 put under slight press with woodblocks in between for 24 hours in a warm place
5 unpress, remove tape and cut excess with x-acto or cutter knife

What Nils said but I use a heat gun after application to draw the epoxy deeper into the cut. Also, don't use the 5 minute stuff. It sets too fast.

Go to a good sporting goods store or fishing shop and get some Aqua Seal. It's made for repairing waders and such, but it is the ultimate in delam repair goo. This stuff is super strong, but a bit rubbery. The flexiblilty of it is what makes it way superior to epoxy, no cracking. If you're in a hurry they also make a curing additive to speed the hardening.
good luck
