Just got back from my first day out with Catek fr2 pros on my deck.

I have heard much debate as whether these are practical for freeride/backcountry or capable of landing big air and have screw loosening issuesetc etc. and the answer is...........

..."these bindings are hands down the best soft boot bindings" PERIOD !

I was very skeptical (because of some people's reviews I had read) about screw loosening issues...plates being too hard to land big air jumps...the high cost etc. etc.
regarding screw loosening...I assembled mine and wrapped three wraps of teflon tape on every screw and bolt and had zero issues with screws loosening. I did not use teflon tape on the board insert screws because I feel catek has addressed this quite well with the D3 rubber and as well I opted for the Plastic plate as well and their is a rubber in that as well.
I am delighted to say...I no longer need to carry a tool-kit with me. :) . Not one screw loosened. This is the first set of bindings I have ever had which I didn't have to retighten board-insert screws during the day and with teflon tape on all the other chassis screws their was zero loosening experienced.
And to the people that have trouble with Kingpins freezing up ...teflon tape is the cure. It's worked in automotive applications for years.
So use teflon tape on all but the board insert screws(you can but don't need too) and you'll be all smiles :) I would head out in the backcountry in a heartbeat with these bindings...their very solid and reliable.

Landing big airs on hard aluminum with big holes everywhere...udno...it seemed sketchy to me too..lol. I'm stunned that these bindings are more comfortable landing big air than any freeride binding out there. Why ?...beats the hell outta me but Catek did their homework here and their so smooth you almost wonder whether you've landed yet. Being skeptical I started out with small airs and progressed higher and higher.and the verdict is the only thing holding you back from going big with fr2 pros is your brain screaming at you and calling you an idiot for charging over a cliff edge.

Their is no issues with comfort landing big airs. Period !

The bonus is your feet stick like glue to the base on landing giving you unrivaled control on landing...they make landing your board as effortless as carving a turn....which is also effortless with these bindings. Direct link to the brain is the only way to explain it.

And how did I find the control and comfort with fr2 pros straps (I have the Limited edition carbon straps) ....mindblowing how perfect they are...I just simply don't know how you could ever improve the response and feel. Awesome. Absolutely BRILLIANT !

Thank You Catek for an awesome product...great service...and... aircraft grade build quality.

Catek is selling these things too cheap in my opinion....their worth a lot more than 500 bucks to me.

If you are looking for softboot freeride bindings...look no further than Catek fr2 pros.

Cheers :)
