So after few year break from visiting here I'm enjoying visiting again and seeing what's going on.

One thing I've noticed is that there is still lots of talk about Burton hard boot/race board stuff. It was my impression that they stopped producing anything from their Alpine line a few years ago. I looked at their website and see nothing listed.

Is all the talk about old stuff or are they still producing stuff that I just don't know about?

Cool......thanks for the update. It's a wonder that stuff still exists. Everything I ever had with a Burton label broke. Must be lots of NOS.

I ride at a local hill that probably has more hardbooters per capita than any resort in North America. There are Burton alpine boards all over the place here. Alps, Factory Primes, Speeds and R17 Addicteds. They get passed around, handed down and sold over and over. The only time I would call any of these boards garbage is if its been thrashed and used up.

Im also pretty sure 2005 was the last year for Burtons alpine boards (the R17 Addicted for the Japan-only market). Speeds, I last saw brand new in 2005 but that was likely old stock.

Derf is the resident Burton archivist. Im sure he will weigh in.

you can still buy new [unused] Burton gear from Chris Klug www.klugriding.com

he bought up all their factory surplus from the late 90's and up until they stopped producing race/carving gear a few years ago. So he has all that stuff new, but yeah, it's at least 5 years old.

R-17's were last made 05-06 and Ibex bindings were just made last year...
