I read the FAQ and am not feeling very smart about this avatar thing. Do you add the avatar thing in your profile or when you post the message. Any clues would be greatly appreciated.

~go into your user cp (located top right)
~go edit options
at the bottom there is a area that says change avatar
~select change avatar
this will take you to a new screen you will have multiple choices of how to load your avatar
any question post em here!
remember it can only be 100X100 pixels and no greater than 15000 bytes

open a image in your veiwer of choice then save as and it should give you the parameters that you need for example 100 by 100 and 100 k or less
in mac OS its super easy and linux too so in Windows it should be pretty straight forward too

The key (as stated before) is the Avatar picture cannot be larger than 100 by 100 pixels and the file size cannot be larger than 15k.
Anything larger than the above will be rejected by the forum software.
For example, put your mouse (in Windows) over an Avatar, right click, and then you should see the properties for that picture. They should follow the guidelines stated before.
But smiles are free! :D
