So, my Burton bindings have a locking highback. Can I use a booster strap to make it an almost three strap soft carving binding?
Lock the highback, put the Booster around the top of the highback, cinch it up, lay down some arcs?
Thanks, Spencer

Should work ok for a while. All depending on how the highback was designed and how flexy it is. That and finding a way to attach the strap to the highback (not hard but could provide some kind of design hurdle). Then again, it could last for years.

Drill through the highback, properly install a grommet on the straps, and rivet the strap to the highback?
I think an actual STRAP would work better though...ratchet and all...
someone did this with catek bindings...

Nice idea but you'll likely break the latch on the highback as it is not designed for those kind of forces:(

I figured the give in the booster strap would protect the highback some. i was looking for some play instead of the direct engagement of a full-on third strap. A little slack but power when you want it.

That’s a great idea. Kinda like the power strap on ski boots. I might have to rig something like that up.

i tried this idea a few days ago and it worked well. i did'nt want to void any warranty on my bindings so i used plastic wire ties. without the third strap i was not able to put much toe side pressure on the edge but now it is easy. my bindings are the Burton Co2, they have space to thread the power strap thru the highback. the small issue now is that my soft boots allow to much heel lift, so i might have to pony up for a pair that fits better.

CC, did you use the "Booster" strap or soemthing w/out give to it?
Did it give some for a little play then engage or did you rig for immediate engagement?

i used the kind of "power strap" that skiers use on thier boots. when you tighten it down there is no give.
