An social opportunity to get better, meet other hardbooters and so on. Hope this will work out.

Calgary local hardbooters (and wannabe hardbooters) that are over 30 years old.

-Monday nights at COP 7-9.

Any other plans will be made while drinking beer :)

It's to get better at hardbooting, get some coaching and run some gates.

Drop me a line to get involved!

Hope Chad H, Stu B and Rob S can make it too!!! I'll get in contact with those guys to see if they're keen (Rob hopefully you're seeing this!!)

PS I hope you're patient and medically certified. Talk with you soon.

This Monday I'll be in Revy with the bindings off.

Next Monday, I'll get Stu and we'll hook up at COP. I hope they close a run for us...

Hey, this looks good. There are 4 masters interested so far... And maybe Stu and Rob? cool. We will start January 7th. (I am in Europe up till then at races with the high performance team). We have training space reserved for those times at COP.

I'd like to try my hand at running some gates, without getting right into the whole scene ... and I can handle the odd beer ...

MJB
November 29th, 2007, 09:26 AM
Allee - I think thats what most have expressed - get better at hardbooting, try some gates. Its a real social and skill improvement opportunity more than anything. :biggthump and to get carvers together a bit more.

I may be moving out of AB for work by then. If not, then I'll definitely be there.

We had similar evenings in Quebec, run by the coach of the Quebec racing team. Great stuff.

with Chad H, he says he'd be keen but probbly won't make it every Monday.
Jeff Collins is in and my bud Bruce is stoked. Up the # by 3.

Mark, is COP giving you a good deal on the lane? What sort of dough are you lookin for from attendees?

I emailed SRECSKY through his profile to see if he'd be interested and maybe he can get in contact with the group that attended NES.

It'll be wild seeing more than 2 HB guys on the hill.

Thanks for he email Kurt! I never visit this section of the forum.

I typically have hockey or soccer on Monday evenings, but will ditch either for a least a few sessions. I'm not a racer, just a carving enthusiast.

Please send me the details.

Thanks,
Steve Recsky

you Steve, I have no racing ambitions and expressed that to Mark. He seemed pretty OK with that. It should be fun, I'm just looking to improve, I can make it down most hills OK but I know I could be WAY better. Talk with you soon.

What is the $300 fee for? Is this more than just a social gathering of carvers?

Brad and I had a great time laying down some sweet carves with Ryan tonight. We scared the begeebers out of some of the newbies sitting in the middle of the runs.

Where was everyone else???

Oh well, next time...

the 3 of us tonight, Jeff, Bruce and myself and another guy in an orange Uvex helmet out tonight. Decent conditions, awsome to see other guys riding.

If you are the guy with the orange helmet and are reading this, sorry the paths didn't cross. (The lounge has some sort of force field the prevents you from leaving...) Let's hook it up! Heading to Nakiska tomorrow.

We met a gal out there (Heather I think???) who, I think, aluded she might join us on some Mondays? Hope so.

Masters team is starting on Monday night. See you on the east side of the daylodge - near the triangle room. If you need a lift ticket - COP will give 30% of tickets, after I give them the names that night (and each monday).

a belated merry ho-ho and new year to everyone.

I can be there, but I don't plan on riding tonight.

I will be there tonight to see who shows up. Looks like some had a fun day at Nakiska yesterday? If you can make it to ride with the team - awesome, if not - see you soon.

Allee
January 15th, 2008, 07:30 AM
Ryan and I were out last night - he rode, I didn't.

Talking to Mark it seems as if Monday nights are going to be run as an informal "drop in and ride" with some gates set up. Hopefully we can make up some numbers next week.

Maybe it will snow on COP this week. It was sounding a little crunchy last night :-)

If you are interested in the Calgary Masters Snowboard Team, please join our facebook group (Calgary Masters Snowboard Team). This will be a good place to discuss and get information. Next Monday night, we will have gates and wireless timing set up to have some fun with.

Hey you guys,

Team CSC is stoked to announce that we have 2 dedicated alpine coaches lined up for Monday nights at COP gate training for Masters and those interested in trying gates. There is a small price, as there was last time. Hope to see you out there this season!

Wow..... l had a crack at this back in the winter of '93-'94. Never became very good at gates but it sure was fun. Rob was a demon though... and quite the sight in his exo-skeleton body armor!

lf l can get my hands on a good board l'd like to have another go over the Christmas holidays if possible (^_^) My Sims CON has zero camber left and isn't really a gate machine anyway.
