Terry peak, Dear Mtn, and Great Bear are the only 3 ski areas that I know of in SD. Good luck on your search!
Head West!!
Eastern SD is not really known for having any Mountains or hills...

I'm stoked to hear that there is someone from So Dak. on the forum!!! I'm originally from Rapid City.
As dredman said Head west. I don't ever recall hearing of any racing at Terry or Deer, it was always Colorado or Utah. Does Minnesota offer anything?
Welcome!

I'm not sure if Minnesota has anything, I'm thinking that they probably do though.
Right now I'm limited on how far I can go because I have a year of high school left. Hopefully I'll be out west next winter for college though.

Not sure what the qualifications are besides money, Steamboat has a great racing program as does Copper Mtn. Steamboat even has a college in town, Colorado Mountain College. Western State in Gunnison could be a fun choice also. It all depends on what you want from school.
Good luck

the colleges that I am looking at are
Gogebic Community College in Ironwood, Michigan
Colorado Mountain College in Leadville, Colorado
and
Sierra Nevada College in Incline Village, Nevada
and those are the only colleges that have the degree I want (Ski Area Business). Michigan probably doesn't have a whole lot in the way of racing. It should be easy though to find something in Colorado and in the Lake Tahoe area.
I'm just thinking that it might be helpful if I had a little bit of racing experience before getting into the big leagues like that

Minnesota actually does have some racing opportunities,.
There are annual competitions (http://www.thegteam.net/competition.htm) in both the Alpine events, and SBX through the USASA organization.
Many of the competitors in the Twin Cities area are also junior riders on "The G Team."
"Hyland Hills," in Bloomington MN is where our team trains.
