So what do you like to drink?
I like Bourbon when I am having alcohol. After a day of snowboarding, a nice Magic Hat is excellent.

Water/juice to start!
But after hydration ...
Scotch, or Bourbon. Nothing younger than 12 years. Definitely neat.

Nothing like an Otter Creek Copper Ale, followed by single malt scotch, neat. Though some of the small batch bourbons go down very nicely also.

I love the Woodford Reserve. Basil Haydens is also real nice. Yesterday when I started this thread I was sipping on a new OUTSTANDING discovery. 15 year old Old Rip VanWinkle. 107 proof and smooth. I think it is nicer than the Bookers.

The MaCallan Cask Strength is also very strong: 58.4% alc/vol. Smooth though. And very tastey, especially if cut a wee bit with a coupla' cubes.
Was sipping some Woodford by the fire the other night...mmmmmm. Smokey! :)

1. Pint Glass of half Jack, half Coke.
2. Pint Glass of any top shelf Vodka (except grey goose) boycotting it. And Red Bull, although the new Low-Carb Monster is very similar and you get twice as much for the same price.
3. Maudite- Beer with the Viking Ship on the front. about 9.5% alc.
Many others but those are the staples
I'll get you the recipe for Chocolate Cake shots.

I'm a fan of stout, although after a day of riding I often find myself with a few bottles of the Otter Creek Stovepipe Porter. I'm also a fan of all of the Unibroue brews (Raftman, Maudite, La Fin Du Monde, Eau Benite, etc). When I can get my hands on it, I also drink BHBC's Cadillac Mountain Stout.

Gosling's Black Seal rum and Barritt's ginger beer. Only Barritt's will do. None of these Stewart's or Jamaican immitations. And ginger ale does not cut it.
I know people love it, but I really can't do Scotch, at all. For slow sipping, give me the blue agave Tequila, fine rum (Bacardi 8 is real nice), or a straight up dry vodka Martini with olives.

I'm stoked to hear that not only are you guys a great bunch of people, but also a bunch of pisshead tequila drinkers as well. I'm gonna have to make it to some of those camps next season...
Vlad, shame about the Swede, but some people just canna handle their mezcal. She should try some of the stuff my boss bought me back from Mexico - now that's kosher tequila, and it kicks like a mule ...
And yes - I definitely save the T for afters - I can't board when I'm sober. Although maybe I should give it a try - my heelsides might improve!

Not that I mind thinking about/talking about/drinking favorite alcoholic beverages, but this topic is a repeat from last spring. Someone should take a survey and see if increased alcohol consumption is really correlated to closure of area ski hills.
Nice to see so many high-end tequila drinkers here. Yum, there's a taste that I'm glad to have acquired.
Otherwise, it's gotta be the NW microbrews. Bridgeport's Ebenezer (winter ale) is a classic, and so is Rogue Dead Guy. On the Canadian beers, I'll see your Maudite, and I'll raise you a "Fin du Monde." Something that tastes that good has to be good for you, right?

If you like La Fin du Monde, I'd recommend giving the DogFish Head "Raison D'être" a try as well. Slightly lower alcohol content (8% vs 9%) but the taste has a similar character.

BEER CAN Challenge Rules: These can be adjusted for you professional drinkers out there of course***.
-6 member team meets at designated house and plan to stay over. I encourage drinking but not stupidity.
-Purchase 4 cases of beer of diff types light to dark and heavy(ale to stoudts)
-Each team member must consume 16 beers (4 of each type) each in 8 hours period*** refer above. Cut the time limit or up the amount of beer.
-Anyone can drink a case of Coors Water or I mean light.
-The type cannot be repeated on followup events.
-OH the last rule have the girls schedule their night the same night somewhere else. Unless they are on the team.
Let meknow how it goes. WE are looking to make this a semiannual event. looking to set additional rules that would get you messed up worse besides liquor. Maybe shotgunning or funneling.
Let me know how it goes and any changes you try.

Thanks for the rec - if I can find it out here, I'll definitely give it a try.
Chubz, here's a drinking game for you. My college track team ran an event called "The Beer Mile." It goes like this: get five beers and go to a track. Chug a beer, run a lap, chug a beer, run a lap, chug a beer, run a lap, chug a beer, run a lap, and then chug your final beer. No time penalties for throwing up, though of course it will slow you down.
I seem to recall that a friend of mine on the women's track team turned in a sub-8 minute beer mile, but even given our heavy drinking/high tolerance in college, that seems impossible to me now. I'll have to look into this.
Oh, and Beer Miles are sometimes followed by "Naked 4x400s", but that's a whole other, much more sordid story.

Take an old ski (200+cm)...epoxy 4 pint glasses to the ski, equally spaced...fill with beer...line up fpur guys (girls work too)...consume as a team.
Also can be done as a shotski...
its a bitch to clean but...

THanks for the idea on the Beer Mile. Only a few problems:
-you havent seen the guys I drink with, no runnning involved except Rick who is a 52 year old health freak.
-I haven't done any consistent running since playing rugby in college 12 years ago. And I guarantee you we ran further during a game than a mile, of course with a keg on the sidelines for hydration. I stay in shape at the local gym on the EFX, stair climber and SPin classes but they dont permit coolers or kegs at the gym.
-Since some is coming maybe just watch track and field on the TV and drink for each lap completed.
-Lastly, I love a girl that can hold her own but sometimes the good ones scare me if they can drink more than me.
With respect to the Brewski, how about a boardski? For initiation on the rugby team, rookies had to do cleet chug, by filling another rookie's shoe with beer and chugging it at the end of the game. Maybe do some boot chugs.
Later

as for the boardski...unless you want to sacrifice a perfectly good board...have at it. Probably will limit the number of participants to 3, and it does lose the double meaning aspect. to be accurate, it would have to be a brewboard...

Mmm... I had a "la fin du monde" once when I visited Hull, Canada. Tastey, but not as tastey as an Extreme Onction from "the Devil" microbrew at Tremblant. :D
Of course I'm not a beer drinker; only when I can't get my hands on a nice bourbon or scotch.
