Stephen Koch is on the cover of Outside magazine. Here is a front page example of a snowboarder who uses hardboots with plates for montaineering, not that anyone would notice the difference. He is seen climbing Everest in what look like some old Rachlie snowboard boots... (green tongue)w/ rubber vibram soles. I guess he gave up up his 7 summits goal out of fear of for his life after a close call for an avalanch. I wonder what kind of gear he uses and if he can lay downs some trenchs.
