I have no experience with the Prior, but I did get a Donex Axxess this year. Heck of a nice board! Way better than anything I'd ridden previously.

Go axxes, support local builders! I love mine, ten days plus on it. :D :1luvu:

It has been discussed in depth fairly recently:

I own both a 172 Axis and a 169 4WD. They are both great boards.
The Prior is playful, forgiving, and easy to ride. I have not been able to get it back from Rebecca because she is having too much fun.
I was having a tough time understanding the Axis until a fellow hardbooter (thanks Mike T) told me to think of it as an all mountain slalom board. That board rips! If you commit to your turns, the Axis will reward you.
Enjoy either one.

I absolutely love my 4WD. I haven't logged nearly that much time on an Axxis, though, but I felt the waist was narrower and that it wasn't as forgiving/fun/etc in the rough. I think someone described Axxis as a carver you can take off-piste, and the 4WD as an all-around that you can rip on groomers.
If you weren't such a slacker and had come out with me this past week, you could have tried my 4WD anytime :) Wanna go tomorrow? Give me a call,
tom.

I don't think I can go tomorrow, even if i could I wouldn't get there til 1030 or so. I need to go ride, I haven't been out in a week and I'm starting to itch....I keep getting stuck with "adult responsibilities".
As of right now the Donek is in my virtual cart, with some TD2's, but I still can't commit!

What you have to remember is... you are comparing two high end boards. Both will perform phenomenally, yet they will ride different. Is there any difference quality wise? No. Price wise? No. It boils down to personal preference. You cannot go wrong with either board.

And has any one bought stuff from bomber oniline lately? the shipping section looks like the prices and shipping option are mismatched? ( I dont buy stuff on line much so maybe its me )

I've found the shipping prices, other than "free ground" a little odd every time I have ordered. I just placed an order 2 days ago and I am sure that if you place the order and leave a note in the comment area to contact you about shipping prices, Michelle will get back to you on the first possible business day. Seems like, if you are currently in Colorado, the free shipping should get to you pretty fast.

I don't think I can go tomorrow...
Sorry to hear that -- I'm planning to go a few times during the week, let me know if you want to join up.
BTW, this is a question often asked on BOL -- I haven't found any posts using the forum search function, but google was helpful:

I'm sure you'll enjoy whichever board you get,
tom.
