Any Carvers here, ride in Southern Wisconsin? Places like Cascade, Devil's Head, Alpine, etc. It would be nice to meet up and ride together.
I will be riding one of the new Volkl RT GS's this year, it has a flaming tiger skeleton on the top sheet. If you see me, say hi.:D

I typically ski at Sunburst which is about 20-30 minutes north of Milwaukee. Let me know if you want to meet somewhere. I have about 3-4 buddies that would love to ride with someone other than me. I'm trying to move to Denver so if I end up moving I'll let you know. Keep your fingers crossed for me. I had my first interview today. Thursday is number two.:D

Have you ridden at Granite Peak? I have heard it is nice. I am thinking about heading there this year.

Roach,
Those areas are where I learned to hard boot. I am originally from a Southwest suburb of Chicago, so I know all the local hills, and will be at them over Christmas break. I am up in Marquette, MI now for school, so I'll be at Marquette Mtn. almost daily once it opens. If you ever want to hook up, let me know. It's always cool to see someone here in the Mid-west that knows that hard boots aren't just for skis.

HEy Roach....
There are a bunch of us who ride regularily at Tyrol BAsin just west of Madsion. In fact we have at least 20 of us that race in an adult race league on Monday nights. Drop me an -mail if you are coming to the area, or if you would be interested in racing with us on Mondays.
Granite Peak(formerly Rib Mtn) has great terrain. They still don't have much for lighting so most of it is closed at night, but I think they are supposed to add more this year. Its a great place to go if you don't want to spend all the time to get to the UP. :D

Roach, I have ridden with the group at Mt Tyrol and I have to say it is good riding and? They do a great job of snowmaking and grooming, just be on the lookout for a couple old men carvers that are out of control on the runs and a third that is the same in the real competition, the apres ski trainning. They don't refer to it as the adult beer drinking league for nothing. Rest assured the runs, woods and wooden posts may be a bit safer for I will not be there this season.
Have fun guys, going to miss it again this year. I'll be thinking of you when riding the gondola at Keystone on Monday Eves, just like you at Mt Tyrols Back Bowls.
Cheers

in Eau Claire at the Lutheran hospital! I remember skiing in my front yard at 8 yrs. old. Thought skiing sucked then and never liked the snow. At 12 saw the Rockies when moving to Wash. State and was VERY impressed. I feel for you guys that measure vert. with a tape measure! HGR, Jon
