I have been riding plates for three years now and rode freestyle for four more before that, I never had too much instruction on carving and kind of taught myself the most I could by watching videos and reading articles. Right now my riding seems to have reached a plateau and something about my technique just seems to be fighting me. I was wondering if there was anyone out there that lives in the new england area that rides at wachusett could give me a lesson and show me some different drills and exercises to help me out. Any night would be good because I have the century pass at the mountain which is good any night 4-10. Any help would be great.

Hey guys there is a group of us that rides regularly on Wed nights. Bob I work for Fidelity in Smithfield RI, so we could easily hook to ride together. We also talked about duing a day trip mid week next week. Bob, Ben, Willy I'll need to know in advance what day you guys want to plan this. I was thinking Mt Snow, with 3 fill ups at Mobile you get $10 off a ticket.

I also have heard about wednesday nights just recently but have been unable to make it the past two weeks since I heard about it. How many of you guys end up going usually on Wed.? Also I might be able to pull off going midweek but I would have to have at least a week in advance so I could work on a Saturday so I could take a day off during the week.
Fidelity is just around the corner from me, and actually I have a couple of friends that work there. Not sure what time you get out of work but I usually end up leaving Smithfield about 5:30ish, let me know if you go around the same time we could shoot up there.

Geoff, I'd be up for Mt Snow but it's a hike for a day trip. I might meet you guys up there tho. My friend has a ski house there too but I'd have to clear it with him first to bring a bunch of people. I was thinking Ragged on a wednesday and do the $50 carload deal. $10 bucks each and it's 100 miles from Beantown.

Willy I really don't care where we go. Mt Snow is 2 hrs for me, plus there's at least some steep stuff there (North Side). We'll have to start an email and see who is up for a day trip next week. Bob, Ben you guys up for a day trip? Never been to Ragged, does it have any steeps, I don't just want to be on blue all day.

I'd be up for a day trip, like I said as long as I know what day in advance i can plan around it. I've never been to Ragged mtn. or really heard much about it. You still going to go to wa-wa this wednesday night? Time?

Sunapee sounds good. Carving under the chair on the North Face of Mt Snow is a blast tho. Nice and steep and wide. Bob, come ride with us and you'll be stoked. We rode at Gunstoke last Thursday and Gilmour gave me some great tips & tricks to improve my riding. It does get a little boring hitting that plateau and riding with softbooters/skiiers and feeling like you're sort of stagnating ability wise. Carving with better riders gets me SO fired up.Crankin' tunes and stompin' on the gas! BTW, BOB J how Sunapee last Thursday? Cold and windy but fun as hell? :D

Hey guys don't count me out! I'm definately interested in doing a day trip, and Wed are perfect b/c I have no classes. I have skied Ragged, Sunapee, and Mt. Snow and I think if you're only going for one day, each has plenty of terrain to entertain hardbooters. Sunapee has some nice wide groomers, as does Ragged. Also, any of you with a Mt. Wachusett Century/Season pass should know you get half off from Okemo any time your pass is valid [as well as other American Skiing Company resorts, "mountains of distinction"] As for next wednesday, Sunapee's 2-for-1 deal seems to make it an obvious favorite. For carpooling, I have a 7 passenger van if need be [meet at Wachusett?].
PS- I plan to be at WaWa tomorrow night [wed Feb 4] as long as the weather is remotely decent, hope to see some other h'booters there.

I'll also be at wa-te-chu on wed. night, I just called their snow report number and they said they should be getting about 2-4 inches throughout the night, but it is raining where I am so i'll be also playing it by year.

When I left around 9 last night it was still snow up at wachusett. So it looks as of now that I will probably be up there tonight. I'll check in the lounge around 6-6:30.

I'll be happy to teach people at Wa- I used to teach there before.
My concerns as always- lift tickets, gas food. Carpooling is the most desireable option.
I helped teach Carve Master Curt and Vin Q. so likely I can help you ride. BTW joe Cerra is also from RI (helped him out today) lets see if we can get a group of 3-5 people together.....its a lot more fun with a bunch of people- I'll have you ripping the deepest fastest trenches you never thought possible before.

just got back into hardbooting myself and i'm trying to learn new ec techniques. i rode with jerome and ty from the wachusett ski school two weeks ago and these guys were fantastic with tips / technique. at the end of the night i was getting really close to the ground ...but have a lot to learn still. check them out at the ski school or just catch up with Wednesday night crew. sunapee was mashed up snow (moguls) today... great for the free ride board in the afternoon but the donek didn't fair too well in 6" of fresh snow. - johnny
