Thinking about getting my 6 yo on his first board. Can I use his ski boots on a regular (freeride/freestyle) kid size snowboard. I've got the bindings? I want him eventually carving of course.
Any suggestions?
I don't want to spend a fortune on new gear that he may hate after a few sessions. Can't rent carving set up for adults let alone kids.
Thanks.

I did this last year with my son. He was 8. This year I bought him a small pair of Raichles and a racing board, but it isn't necessary. He used a 100 last year with his ski boots. It helped that he had 2 buckle salomon boots (pretty soft). In his Langes this year it might be harder, although his Raichles come up much higher on his leg.
Having him in ski boots made it easy for him to ditch his skis at 2:30 and whip out his board and jump right on. This year it takes him a few minutes to change boots, plus he has to carry extra gear to the hill.

for only $50.00. He can use his ski boots on it, that's what my 8 year old son did last season. It's a Rossi 136cm Accelerator with Burton carrier bindings. He used his sisters old Raichle ski boots for all of last season on this board and it worked just fine. It's a great starter set-up for a child and the price isn't much more than what you would pay for a rental or two if you could even find one. Shipping is $20.00, so for less than $75.00 could have your cake and eat it too......Let me know,
Paul
