Is F2's "Effect Edge" the same parameter as everyone else's "Running Length"? If not, what is it? I assume that the running length is the distance between the contact points front and rear when the board is on a flat surface (?)

In the old Burton catalogs, effective edge and running lenght were two different measures. I don't know which one every company uses though.

From http://www.bomberonline.com/articles/setup.cfm
The running length is the length of your board actually in contact with the snow when you are riding it.
Burton and some others differentiate between effective edge and running lengths by saying that the running length is the overall length minus nose length minus tail length, and that effective edge is the actual length of the curve of the sidecut, which will generally be a few centimeters longer.
