I am going up to Sugarbush this weekend. I looked at the mountains web-site to see the trail map. I notice on the map that there are two different ski areas. Whats the deal? I think maybe there are two areas combined as one, just like Killington and Pico. How are the slpes at Sugarbush? Any steep groomers?

aside from the ridiculous tempertatures this weekend, sugarbush was pretty good. everything was groomed with the exception of the double blacks, and the groomers held up throughout the day rather well. the following groomers were pretty good for carving:
upper organgrinder - relatively steep, good grooming (leads to the lower section that is groomed well but has quite a few rises leading to some nice air haha)
waterfall - easy "black", not that long and not really steep but consistent grade lift line run with great groomers
rim run - not steep but real long blue with consistent grade
i don't know i'd list more but to tell you the truth everything was groomed pretty well (with the exception of doubles and mogul runs etc) you should be able to find a good bit to ride
lincoln peak is the most crowded generally but has quite a few nice runs. mt ellen was empty this weekend due to -25 degree temps at the top, but it was awesome as far as general riding. the shuttle between the two runs every half hour and is free you should be able to ride both.
if you have any other questions, let me know.

ps. supposed to get a decent amount of snow in the area this week

actually, there is a lift between the two mtns. i forgot to mention because it was closed all weekend due to the low temps.

Thanks for the information. I am excited to go. After looking at the on-line trail map for awhile, it looks like organGrinder is a nice run. I will be sure to ride it.

2 days left for the warren miller vouchers at the Bush. I've got 5, count 'em, 5 left. Even if you don't want to rally from Boston, just email me and I'll send you the code to unlock your prize. I hate to see free riding go to waste. All you need to do is print up the confirmation coupon from the wmecoupons.com website and you're good to go.:D
