Thanks to Dragonfly, CKleinh, and couple of others for wishing me luck for my deaf olympics team try out. Well, I was on a very tight schedule, and originally, I was going to attend Giant Slalom Event. Somehow, somewhere, the schedule got swapped, and it was for Slalom. I wasn't too happy since Im not too great with Slalom.

Well, it turns to be a bit better than I expected. On first heat/run, I play a bit too conservatively and the timing wasn't that great. On 2nd run, I was a bit much faster, but almost missed one gate and that cost me time for recovering.

Makes me wonder about Slalom. From my experiment, if I go way too fast, there are potentionals to miss out the gate. Do you folks, racers, skid slightly to maintain the course or just simply haul ass ?

FWIW, I used my Madd 158.

more important than being fast is not missing a gate. of course...both is the ideal. If you haul ass and are the edge of control, you are in the right place. weigh the risk reward of your speed. if you are too fast, and lose control, you're hosed. if you are controlled but slow...you don't win.

Skid where you need to be in balace between speed and contol
